I love this book! I actually picked it on impulse but instantly fell in love with it! I am quite sad though, I wish I could get a hard copy so I can have this on my bookshelf 🤭. Shocking for me, partly because I hardly ever buy hard copies, and partly because this troupe is actually part of my least favourite troupes. EX! however, made me fall in love with every character and every word. Again, I love this book!

What a lovely book. I am an expat living in Amsterdam and the way Amsterdam is described in a book, via Lola's eyes, is excatly the reason I decided to stay here.

I am Dutch, but English narrators are so much better. Loved this narrator, would only have checked how to pronounce names and places. Dutch are blunt and rude, as this book proofs again, still liked the story.

Liked this book. It’s funny, the characters grow on you, some very predictable storylines but than they deviate, so that keeps it interesting. I do wonder why a Dutch book is narrated in English. The pronunciations are so weird sometime. The name of the cat 😂😂 She says Plop-jayKept me wondering (I am Dutch) what it was written like It is Plopje! Which means little plop (like the sound) but we don’t say ‘je’ as ‘jay’ it’s more like ‘juk’ without the -k (like when something tastes bad) Plopju(k)😂😂 all the Dutch name said wrong kept me grinning 😂
