Young adult
The second in Terry Pratchett's beloved Discworld novels starring the young witch Tiffany Aching.
Tiffany Aching is ready to begin her apprenticeship in magic. She expects spells and magic—not chores and ill-tempered nanny goats! Surely there must be more to witchcraft than this.
What Tiffany doesn't know is that an insidious, disembodied creature is pursuing her. This time, neither Mistress Weatherwax (the greatest witch in the world) nor the fierce, six-inch-high Wee Free Men can protect her. In the end, it will take all of Tiffany's inner strength to save herself . . . if it can be done at all.
'A Hat Full of Sky continues Terry Pratchett’s brilliant look into the world of a young witch: this time, with more angst.' (Fantasy Book Review)

The best YA novel (although it feels unfair calling it that, this book is for everyone) I've ever encountered. Terry Pratchett's world might not have the history of Tolkien, the mythos of Le Guin or whatever it was that made us all read Harry Potter, but this story is more. It and it's prequel tell one of the most insightful, heartwarming and funny coming of age stories, with witty social commentary and the usual endless creativity of the discworld.

One of the Terry Pratchett novels I never got around to, mainly becuase it is listed as a novel for young adults. The content is indeed less satirical and the storyline simpler to grasp but still very well written and filled with humour and insights into human nature.

Mooi boek, mooi voorgelezen, wel wat onheilspellend.

What can I say? It’s magic but logical and earthy.
